We have a sick one

The past few days has been a whirlwind of activity. One of my roommates from college, Kelly, ended up being in town from Florida, and she was able to stay with us Sunday night. With that distance it is too few and far between when we get to catch up. I miss her already. Since Saturday Hannah has been waking up with those yucky fevers, 101.5 yesterday. Luckily we were going in for her "well check." I really do need to stop calling them that. Either she is sick going in, or ends up catching something there. I'm starting to dread those appointments for reasons other than those awful shots. We ended up spending close to four hours there yesterday. No shots though, those come next week. The doctor was worried about her not gaining enough weight again. She is weighed in at a whopping 17 pounds, 10 ounces (10% percentile). But gained some height at 29 inches (50% percentile). The Doctor wanted to do blood work (two vials worth), throat culture and potty sample, that was what we spent all the time there for. It is heartbreaking having to bear hug her and look into her eyes with all of the pain. It was a long day. And we still don't know what is causing the fever, not an ear infection, not strep throat, not a UTI. Will await results of lab work.
